Bleaching Cream - Information and Tips for Using them

Bleaching helps maintain skin health by removing suntan. First, it camouflages facial hair to match skin colour. Secondly, it thouroughly cleanses the skin, and lastly, it is safe and gives instant fairness in just about 15 minutes. Bleaching cream, contains a chemical called hydroquinone. Hydroquinones are the most widely prescribed medicine for the lightening of the skin.

It is found very beneficial to the skin. It does not cause a burning sensation nor does it contain any chlorine. It contains hydrogen peroxide in cream form with ammonium salt as the activator either in the form of cream or powder, thus making application easy and painless.

Bleaching creams has a unique gas-flushing action due to release of carbon dioxide and ammonia. It cleanses slogged pores and removes dirt from the skin, making it breathe a lot easier.Hydrogen peroxide is a strong antiseptic that kills bacteria and other pimple-causing micro-organisms.

Tips of using bleaching cream:

These includes:-

  • Firstly, test the sensitivity of the skin, before applying, even if tested before.
  • Avoid the bleaching cream, after a hot bath.
  • Avoid the bleaching cream on cuts or abrasions, moles, skin disorders or make-up, as they may cause a burning sensation or irritation.Wait at least 24 hours after use before applying an astringent.
  • Always store the kit in a cool, dry and dark place away from excessive heat, since this could reduce its effectiveness.

The bleaching cream is easy to use. Brown spots, is an intentionally vague term. A brown spot is called post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Acne patients with darker skin are familiar with this form of "brown spots". In these patients the inflammation from their acne leaves them with brown pigmentation on their face that can last from months to years. In fact, they are even notoriously resistant to laser therapy, so we turn to bleaching creams.

Bleaching creams come in many varieties. The most common ingredient is hydroquinone. Over-the-counter preparations contain up to 2% hydroquinone and prescription creams contain up to 4% hydroquinone. But most patients who I see have already tried these creams, and they are coming to see me because they have failed to improve.

Hydroquinone is the best treatment for lightening brown spots caused by sun exposure, aging, and cutaneaous hyperpigmentation. For nighttime use only since this cream contains 2% hydroquinone. It is recommended for: Age spots, Dehydrated skin, Dark pigmentation, Freckles etc.
