Nutrition for Skin Care

A balanced diet means that the four food groups- vegetables and fruits, grains, meat, and dairy products must be consumed according to how much your body needs it. For example, a person high in cholesterol may lessen the intake of animal protein, which is proven to hold more fat than the other groups, in order to prevent heart attack or stroke.

It would be naive to believe that changing your nutrition is going to wipe out all your wrinkles or completely stop skin aging. But it is just as naive to think that you can eat whatever you want without any effect on your skin.

For a healthy individual, a good diet can maintain the proper functioning of his or her body. Maintenance of every healthy single tissue and organ is necessary in order to achieve a healthy style of living.

Benefits of a Healthy Diet

Without adequate nutrition, the body will not be able to function properly. This can mean poor concentration, low energy levels, and low immunity. Skin, hair, teeth, bones and muscles will not be as strong and healthy as they could be. Children may not reach their true height potential if they don't have adequate nutrition.

The benefits of healthy diet are as:-

  • Meet your nutritional needs. A varied, balanced diet provides the nutrients you need to avoid nutritional deficiencies. Non-nutrients, such as fiber, are also necessary to a healthy diet.
  • Prevent and treat certain diseases. Healthful eating can prevent the risk of developing certain diseases such as cancer and heart disease. It is also helpful in treating diabetes and high blood pressure. Following a special diet can reduce symptoms, and may help you better manage an illness or condition.
  • Enjoy life. Food is the mainstay of many social and cultural events. Not only does it provide nutrition, it helps facilitate connections between people. Cooking fresh, healthy meals can also be an enjoyable way to spend time, either on your own or with others.

Overeating does not necessarily mean that the body is getting all the nutrients it needs. Quite often unhealthy food is substituted for necessary nutritious food, and so overweight people can suffer from poor nutrition - as well as the physical burden of excess weight.

Obesity is a health problem as it increases the risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes and several cancers. By eating a nutritious diet means all of these health issues can be avoided. Even if you are quite overweight, keep in mind that every little bit helps. Weight loss of 1kg per month is a great achievement.

A Healthy Diet Includes:-

  • Vegetables and Fruits i.e. carrots, broccoli, cabbage. spinach, beans, apples, bananas, avocados, oranges. you can eat fruits and vegetables in abundance without having to worry about the healthy diet you would want to maintain.
  • Meat, which includes pork, beef, turkey, chicken are necessarily to keep healthy. You must not get anxious about protein shortage due to small quantity of meat consumption everyday because the protein you get from fruits and vegetables will be enough to sustain your protein needs.
  • Grains, which includes bread, cereal, pasta, rice, oats, corn, whole wheat, potatoes will help you keep the energy you need for the entire day. It is better, if you can keep a balanced ratio of whole grains and refined grains.

Healthy eating and being physically active are keys to a healthy lifestyle. You may reduce your risk of many chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis and certain cancers, and increase your chances of living longer.
